i thought avenged sevenfold were just a mediocre metal band when i wrote em off some year ago

A7X has a ton of great stuff. I’m rather disappointed that the Metallica show I went to was one of the few on that tour that didn’t also feature A7X.

Haven’t listened to these guys in a while. I have their self-titled album and I liked Nightmare , but just kinda forgot about them after that. It doesn’t help that I d on ’t listen to the radio as much as I used to.

Just checked out their Wiki page to see how many albums I’ve missed... I totally forgot that The Rev had died and that Nightmare was his last album. I feel even less obligated to catch up on their newer stuff now.

You need to check out their first 2 albums. They were the ones that the singer destroyed his vocal cords on because he was screaming wrong.

It sounds more metal when you know the singer is literally destroying his voice. (Same goes for early Trivium)

See I think the first two were great, 3 & 4 were good for what they were, and everything after that is crap.
